The Studio
The Yoga Den opened in September 2012. Power Vinyasa Yoga is a powerful style of yoga in which your breath is linked with a series of flowing asanas (postures). This flow along with the heated room allows one to work deeply into the body to create physical, mental & spiritual change along with toxin release. Your body will experience strength & stability, your mind will encounter peace & tranquility and your spirit will become uplifted and transformed. We invite you to experience these benefits on and off your mat.
Come prepared to breathe, sweat and grow. Learn to relax the mind and become present while strengthening the body. Our instructors are all certified and carefully chosen by owner/instructor Michelle Bucci, ensuring each student a safe and successful practice. Come flow with us at The Yoga Den!
Why Yoga?
Yoga has been practiced for more than 5,000 years, and currently, close to 11 million Americans are enjoying its health benefits. Yoga can hardly be called a trend. The series of yoga poses called asanas work by safely stretching your muscles. This may release the lactic acid that builds up with muscle use, which may cause stiffness, tension, pain, and fatigue. In addition, yoga increases the range of motion in joints. It may also increase lubrication in the joints. The outcome is a sense of ease and fluidity throughout your body.
Power yoga builds your core muscles and is meant to empower you and provide balance inside out. Many of the poses, such as downward dog, upward dog, and the plank pose, build upperbody strength. This becomes crucial as people age. The standing poses, especially if you hold them for several long breaths, build strength in your hamstrings, quadriceps, and abdominal muscles. Poses that strengthen the lower back include upward dog and the chair pose. Yoga benefits your posture, your breathing, your balance, your heart, relieves back pain. It has been known to decrease cholesterol, asthma symptoms, arthritis and insomnia. Yoga is beneficial for all ages and all experience levels.
